Rising dramatically from the Firth of Forth, Bass Rock is home to the world’s largest colony of northern gannets. Each spring, over 150,000 birds return to this volcanic island, transforming it into a brilliant white spectacle visible for miles. Gannets are Britain’s largest seabirds, famed for their grace in flight and spectacular dives as they plunge for fish.

A selection of images from the an incredible visit to the Bass.
